There are a few different ways to help: Collaborate, Volunteer or Donate.

We greatly appreciate your support.

We are currently accepting expressions of interest for two additional members to join our passionate Board of Directors, contribute to our growing success and help us reach our goals.  Specific areas of experience include:

1)    Fundraising – grant writing, major gifts and capital campaigns

2)    Legal – experience with charities, policies, property development

If you have a passion to ‘give back’ and a ‘tackle anything’ approach to life, you will like being on our team.  We are both a governance and working board and we’re always ready to pitch in where needed.  Building and sustaining a Kids Camp with a variety of resources for kids and their families battling cancer, is just one of our GO BIG goals!

If this peaks your interest and you can commit to a minimum two (2) year Board term, we invite you to submit your confidential expression of interest and resume to by June 30, 2019.  Please note Board Director in the subject line.

We are hosting Day Camp in Surrey and Vancouver this summer! Day Camp will give kids the opportunity to play all day and snuggle into their own bed each night. This program is open to children living with and beyond cancer/blood disorders and their siblings ages 6 - 12.

We are running programs at:

  • AHP Matthews Elementary in Surrey July 15 - 19 from 8: 30 am - 4 pm

  • AHP Matthews Elementary in Surrey July 21 - 25 from 8:30 am - 4 pm

  • Vancouver Talmud Torah in Vancouver July 29 - Aug 2 from 8:30 am - 4 pm

The Culinary Care Program matches a family experiencing childhood cancer with a professional chef. From here, the magic begins, as the chef prepares an unforgettable meal and offers a much needed escape from the realities of cancer.

We are looking for professional chefs and people who thrive on hosting others to volunteer for this program.

We are piloting this program to support parents whose children are in the midst of treatment at BC Children’s Hospital. We’re starting with providing fresh, healthy food like smoothies to parents as a way to make sure they know they are not alone.

We are looking for families who have experienced childhood cancer to hang out in the family lounge, make smoothies and be an encouraging presence to other families.

WCK is working hard to create a different model. We will always be transparent about where your donations go, how they are used, and the direct benefits they bring to kids with cancer.

Mundane Medal of Honour - Be Boring so Kids Can Stay Wild!

Non-profits, like all businesses have administrative and operating costs. Legal fees, memberships, office supplies are mundane but necessary. Boring, right? We’re working with local businesses who are investing in WCK specifically to cover administrative costs so that donations from individuals go directly to programs for kids and families.

These mundane heroes understand that their impact is supporting a business model of transparency and creating more impact for kids with cancer.

Get your company involved by directing your donation to cover administrative cost and WCK will award you a Mundane Medal of Honour. Contact WCK for more information.
